A social critic and political commentator, Idowu Bankole, has on Friday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to shun political jobbers and deliver democratic dividends to all Nigerians in the new year.

Bankole

Idowu Bankole says Nigerians are yet to benefit from the 5years reign of president Buhari which he described as being characterized by ethnic bigotry and sentiments in political appointments.

Idowu Bankole made this known in a statement he personally signed and released to journalists on Friday.

According to Bankole, president Buhari should focus more on delivering the goods to Nigerians who are toiling to survive daily life under his harsh economic policies rather than favouring some sections of the country and political class.

“It is high time the president focused on the welfare of Nigerians and shuns all forms of bigotry and ethnocentric sentiments which have characterized his government In the past 5years”. 2021 should be a year of remorse for the president. He should use the remainder of his tenure to better the lot of Nigerians who have Ben at the receiving end of his maladministration and anti-people policies and programmes which have further impoverished Nigerians.”

“President Buhari should do more to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians who are yet to feel the impact of his government at all spheres of their lives”

Idowu Bankole noted that the president should concentrate more on what would uplift the lives of Nigerians and the image of Nigeria in the comity of nations and not chase around those who have been making honest opinions about his government.

“Why threaten those who are opposed with your government with arrest and sanctions? The President’s mouthpiece has stopped at nothing to suggest prosecution of those who have made honest opinions about shenanigans going on in the government of Buhari”

Buhari should concentrate on improving the lives of every Nigerian in the new year and the image of Nigeria abroad which has been badly battered with the numerous cases of kidnapping, banditry and terrorism and leave those who have made constructive criticisms about his government alone”.

“Buhari should concentrate on improving the lives of every Nigerian in the new year and the image of the country which has been badly damaged by cases of corruption, kidnapping, banditry and terrorism and leave those making honest and constructive criticisms about his failed government” Idowu Bankole said.

According to Idowu Bankole, 2021 will usher in numerous opportunities and Nigerians must be ready to take them. He asks Nigerians to remain steadfast in their struggle as a victory is in sight.na
