The Agbekoya Farmers Association has dissociated itself from proposed rally in Ibadan to demand for the creation of Oduduwa Republic.
Speaking after National Executive Council emergency meeting, President General of the group, Chief Kamorudeen Okikiola, said that they are not part of the meeting held in one Mr Sunday lgboho’s house in lbadan where it claimed a group of hoodlums that paraded themselves as Agbekoya Peace movement was addressed.
“We have sent a copy of the video recording of the meeting held in Mr Sunday lgboho’s house in lbadan to the office of the Oyo State Commissioner of Police for prompt action. l also want the police commissioner in Oyo state to know that Mr Olasunkanmi Ahmed, a leader of a militant group who was arrested and released on bail for impersonation and illegal use of Agbekoya name to deceive the public has not repented.
“Agbekoya Farmers Association is a registered organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission as a farmers group to undertake commercial mechanized farming and agribusinesses and not a militant group.
“In view of this, we would not tolerate or allow any unscrupulous set of people to tarnish the image of the organization or drag its reputation in the mud, all in the name of militancy. In the same vein, the Jagunmolu of Yorubaland has called on all different groups in South-West to use wisdom in positioning the Yoruba agenda in a positive way rather than deploying thugs and hoodlums to resolve any lingering issues affecting our people.
He also advised Sunday lgboho and Chief Gani Adams, the Are Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland to dissociate themselves from impostors who do not have anything good to offer Yoruba race other than cause mayhem in the society.
