Baby, others escape as vehicle summersaults in Anambra

Three persons, including a little child on Wednesday night, escaped death in a lone accident in a market in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state.

A middle-aged man was said to have sustained a serious injury in the accident which involved a Toyota RAV4 vehicle with four persons on board.

The Nation gathered that the accident which occurred around 6 pm was caused by over speeding and loss of control.

Confirming the incident, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Andrew Kumapayi warned motorists to avoid speeding.

He stressed the importance of the recommended speed limit or common sense speed limit to avoid the unnecessary crash that could be avoided.

He said, “A lone crash occurred at Modern market Oba, by the unidentified driver of a Toyota RAV4 with registration number UGB 767 AA, at about 1745 hrs on January 6, 2021.

“A total number of four persons were involved in the crash comprising two female adults, one male adult, and one female child.

“A male adult sustained varying degrees of injury and was taken to Shara hospital Oba, by good Samaritans before the arrival of FRSC rescue team from Oraifite Command.”

Kumapayi wished the injured accelerated recovery.
