Matthaus

Former German international, Lothar Matthäus, has said he is “convinced” Hansi Flick will leave Bayern Munich to replace Joachim Löw as Germany coach, after this summer’s European Championship.

Flick is being tipped to leave the Bundesliga club amid reports of a strained relationship with sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic.

Bayern have crashed out of this year’s Champions League and will not defend their trophy.

Although Flick’s men won 1-0 at PSG on Tuesday night, the Ligue 1 giants progressed instead on a 2-1 aggregate.

After the game, Matthäus told Sky Germany: “That was Hansi Flick’s last Champions League game as coach of FC Bayern.

“He is first choice at the DFB to succeed Joachim Löw. He will accept the offer. in the summer.”
