Benue Health Board Set To Immunise 1.2 million Children

ABOUT 1 . 2 million children who are less than five years will be immunised against all vaccine- preventable diseases in Benue State .
The Executive Secretary , Benue State Primary Healthcare Board , Dr Bem Ageda , disclosed this to journalists in Makurdi , the Benue State capital .

According to Ageda , the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency has introduced Modified Integrated Medical Outreach as a new strategy to improve immunization coverage in the state .

He said the exercise would last for five days and would have other activities , including medical outreach , to tackle mother ’ s health challenges .

Ageda advised mothers and caregivers to avail themselves and their children of the programme .

Also speaking , the acting State Coordinator, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency , Babatunde Abdullarazak , said 2 , 801 local government health workers were expected to carry out the immunisation in 2 , 506 fixed posts , 510 temporary fixed posts and 30 mobile posts
