Bank of Industry, Nigeria’s oldest and most successful development financing institution on Tuesday, bagged Film4Life’s Nollywood Supporter Of the moment Award in recognition of its contribution towards the development of the Nigerian movie industry.
The award was presented to the bank at a brief ceremony anchored by veteran actress, Steph Nora Okereke on the popular filmmakers’ WhatsApp platform.
According to the platform admin, the award plaque will be physically presented to BoI at an agreed date.
Meanwhile, receiving the award on behalf of the management of BoI, Mrs. Uche Nwuka, the Head of Creative Industry Group, said BOI is prepared to continue to support the movie industry, adding that
“We are reviewing the 13 segments in the Culture and Creative Industry for better delivery.”
She thanks the stakeholders for finding time to review the activities of BoI and especially the Creative Industry impressive and continuous growth.
“We in BOI and my self will never forget my humble beginning and the unquantifiable support we received from the stakeholders in the industry. It was indeed a good start and an interesting experience,” she added.
Established in 1959 as ICON (investment Corporation of Nigeria) Ltd, and later transformed into NIDB (Nigerian industrial development bank) in 1964, BoI stands out as Nigeria’s biggest and most successful development financial institution and prominiently the foremost supporter of the Creative Industry and especially Nollywood at the moment.
