The Federal Government has promised to “ isolate and cut off the links and supplies of the criminals ” troubling the banditry ridden North – West region.
These were the highlights of a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the Minister of Interior , Rauf Aregbesola , and attended by the Katsina State Governor , Aminu Masari, royal fathers and residents of the state in Katsina, on Thursday .
According to a statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations , Ministry of Interior , Mohammed Manga , titled , “ FG, North – West governors to collaborate to end banditry , other crimes , ” the parley was in continuation of the FG ’ s fight against criminality in the North – West .
In his speech titled “ You have the government ’s ears ” , the minister said that they were in Katsina to seek the cooperation of the government and people of the state to bring an immediate end to the menace .
He said , “ Our pledge to you here today is that we are ready and committed to this mission. As we all know, no military campaign can succeed without the cooperation and support of the people.
“ The Nigerian security architecture will isolate and cut off the links and supplies of the criminals . The government is in pain over the wanton killings , theft and destructions being perpetrated by the hoodlums . ”
