How #ENDSARS protesters killed my husband, says widow

A widow, Modupe Oluwadare, has narrated before the Judicial Panel of Enquiry on Police Brutality in Ondo State and Other Matters how her husband, Oluwadare Abiodun, was killed by #ENDSARS protesters.

Modupe who spoke while giving evidence before the panel said the burden of catering for her three children was much for her.

She demanded compensation for the death of her husband.

Modupe said her husband was killed in front of the Ondo State Government House during the ENDSARS protest.

According to her, “My husband was on a bike. A vehicle was in front of the “Okada”. The protesters asked the driver to stop and they were molesting him. In an attempt for the driver to escape, he ran into my husband.

“He was taken to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

“If the EndSARS protest had not happened, my husband would be alive by now.”

The case was closed to enable the panel make its recommendations to the state government.

Chairman of the panel, Justice Adesola Sidiq (Rtd) assured that the panel would conclude its duties within the 6 months period.

Justice Sidiq set February 8th as deadline for submission of fresh petitions to enable the panel treat every petition.
