INEC Lists 565 Polling Units For Cross River Senatorial Bye-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission will conduct the Northern Senatorial District bye – election in Cross River State in 565 polling units on October 31 .

The state Resident Electoral Commissioner , Dr Emmanuel Hart , made this known at a media briefing at the commission’ s state headquarters in Calabar on Monday .

He said , “ The Cross River State Northern Senatorial District has a total of 429 , 488 registered voters , 51 Registration Areas and 565 polling units .

“ The bye – elections will take place in all the 565 polling units of the five local government areas of the Northern Senatorial District , that is in Ogoja , Yala , Bekwarra , Obanliku and Obudu , while the Obudu State Constituency bye – election will take place in 107 polling units at Obudu LGA .”

Hart also announced that nine political parties would participate in the Northern Senatorial District bye – election , while only six political parties fielded candidates for the Obudu State Constituency .
