Katsina University approves overseas training for lecturers

THE Vice-Chancellor of Katsina State-owned Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University, UMYU, Professor Sunusi Mamman on Tuesday announced the approval of a one week Overseas Refresher Courses for academics from the Professorial rank and who were expected to return and impact both the academic staff and students of the university.

Professor Mamman who announced a training workshop and capacity-building for University’s academic staff stated that the overseas training was expected to offer more opportunities for the academic staff to garner more exposure, acquire additional skills and ensure contribution to the growth and development of the university.

He said ’’this university requires the versatile exposure of every member of academic staff to help realise its goals and the training of the upcoming leaders of tomorrow’’.

He urged the staff to double their efforts in the drive to impact skills and sound knowledge into the minds of the youths who are the bedrock of societal developments

He also called on stakeholders in the Ivory tower to always offer concrete advice and suggestions on how best to continue piloting the affairs of the university to attain the best results at all times.
