NLC warns civil servants to adhere strictly to state govts directives on COVID-19

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kaduna State Council has advised civil servants to adhere strictly to the directives of the state government to work from home.

The Labour union also commended the efforts of the state government following steps taken to curtail the resurgence of COVID-19.

In a press statement on Monday, Chairperson of the Congress, Comrade, Ayuba Magaji Suleiman, appealed to people of the state particularly, workers to remain indoors, avoid going out unnecessary and use facemasks if it becomes necessary.

Recall that the state government, as part of efforts to reduce the spread of coronavirus in the state gave the directives to the civil servants.

”Civil servants in the state from grade levels 14 below are directed to work from home till further notice”.

However, according to the labour leader, Suleiman, it is the duty of everyone living in the state to observe COVID-19 protocol

“Observe physical distancing, respiratory hygiene, wash hands with soap under running water and or using hand sanitizers and avoid large gatherings and crowded spaces” the statement further said.

It also advises workers to always provide running water and soap for their visitors as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the virus.
