The Ogun State Governor , Dapo Abiodun , on Thursday , said he had mobilised resources to carry out palliative works on the Ota / Sango / Oju Ore end of the busy Ota -Idiroko Expressway bordering Benin Republic.
Abiodun disclosed this at the State House , Abuja , when he visited the President , Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd ).
The governor , in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary , Kunle Somorin , said the federal road , which leads to the state , had been in a state of disrepair , giving residents and travellers tough times .
Abiodun noted that his administration had approached the Federal Government to cede the road to Ogun and Lagos states for full reconstruction .
The statement read , “ The governor acknowledged the hardship faced by the people as a result of the poor condition of the road , which serves as an entry point for individuals and businesses to the state .
“ He assured the people of the state of his administration ’ s commitment to immediately bring a permanent solution to the road once the Federal Government approved it .”
