The House of Representative lawmaker representing Ona-Ara/Egbeda Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Honourable Akin Alabi has bagged the award as the Federal Legislator of the year.
Honourable Alabi received the Award from the Nigerian Students Merit Awards 2020.
While expressing his gratitude for the award, the lawmaker promised to perform even better by efficiently repr denying his constituency and attracting greater development to them. According to him, “Proud to have received the Award for “Federal Legislator of the Year” from the Nigerian Students Merit Awards 2020. I appreciate this award and promise to do even more next year to ensure efficient representation for the People of Egbeda/Ona Ara.”
The Egbeda/OnaAra community has seen developments brought by the lawmaker in areas such as Welfare programs, community support, infrastructure, And Human capital development. Some of the programs include the 250m women empowerment scheme, the community support program that builds roads and purchase transformers for communities. The infrastructure program involves the construction of schools and Primary Health Care centers and skill acquisition programs for young people.

Akin Alabi has also proposed important bills and motions like the amendment of the administration of Criminal Justice Act, the motion restraining APCON from harassing online businesses, constitution ammendment on the transfer of citizenship by female Nigerian citizens, the amendment of the FRSC act to stop road marshals from carrying guns, Motion to compel INEC to make the continuous voter registration really continuous so as not to disenfranchise Nigerians and so on.
