The Tiv Internally Displaced Persons in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State on Friday commended Governor Darius Ishaku over his efforts at returning peace in the area.
Coordinator of the IDPs, Mr. Christopher Adyem, who made the commendation in a telephone interview with journalists said the IDPs and returnees have since commenced their farming activities across various villages in the area.
Adyem thanked Governor Ishaku for returning them back to their ancestral homes, saying the return of the IDPs will enable them to prepare for the next farming season.
He called on the state government to assist the returnees with food, shelter, and drugs to enable them to start their lives again.

Ayagwa called on the governor to sustain the peace tempo and initiate efforts that would bring cordial relationships among the people to avoid the recurrence of the crisis in the area.
“I want to commend the Governor for his peace efforts and for ensuring that all the Internal Displaced Persons, including Tiv in the crisis areas in southern Taraba return to their ancestral homes.
“We all need peace and I want to call all Tiv sons and daughters in Taraba to support the Governor to succeed in his efforts to return peace in southern and central parts of the State.”
