Yuletide: Kogi State Government announces two weeks break for schools

The Kogi State Government has announced a two-week break for both Private and Public Primary and Secondary Schools in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Pastor Emmanuel Idenyi disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lokoja.

The two-week break according to Idenyi was in total compliance with the revised 2019/2020 Academic Calendar for schools in the state.

He said that school closes from Friday 18th December 2020 and terminates 3rd January 2021.

While wishing the pupils, Students and Teachers a happy Christmas and new year celebration in advance, the Permanent Secretary
mandated all Heads of Boards and Agencies under the ministry to take note of the directives.

Idenyi also urged them to be safety conscious throughout the festivities.

He further called on heads and proprietors of schools to always operate within the specification of academic School Calendar, saying anything contrary to the specification, would attract sanction from the ministry on the erring schools.
